The American Educational Ores of Common Metals Collection contains 15 common metal ore specimens for studying rock and mineral properties in classroom demonstrations and experiments. Ore is a rock containing economically valuable mineral elements or compounds that are typically extracted in mining and refining operations. The set includes bauxite, chalcopyrite, malachite, chrysocolla, pyrite, hematite, magnetite, limonite, banded iron formation of silica and hematite, siderite, dolomite, pyrolusite, cassiterite, sphalerite, and beryl.
