AZDelivery ESP32S Dev Kit C V4 NodeMCU WLAN/WiFi Development Board unsoldered compatible with Arduino including E-Book! (Successor module of ESP32S Dev Kit C)

I’m using it in my smart home together with Home Assistant running on a Raspberry Pi.It’s an easily programmable board for different applications.

Used this to drive a load of ws2812 LEDs using the WLED firmware. Worked great.

If you are creating various things you want to be standalone yet controllabke from your phone, laptop or tablet then this is a very good place to start. You can develope it with your arduino or standalone. Its a great development kit that to use to get to understand ESP32 too. The board design allows for all the IO pins to be configurable. Usefully this has 4MB flash RAM and 520K SRAM. The AZDelivery website has all four versions of the eBook guide for this board which you are wise to download, when you are at the V4 guide click on the language flag and you will then get the guide (some of the ebooks are a free order, which you get your download immediately). These guide are well written. There is quite a bit on-line and on youtube about ESP32 WROOM so explore those resources too. The board is fantastic 5V (3.3V logic) -40°C to +125°C operating. Great Crypto support for AES / RSA / ECC and SHA. WiFi is the 2.4 to 2.5GHz only and Bluetooth v4.2 so this supports IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/d/e/lz/k/r. The SPI is reserved but you can use all the other options to have outputs, inputs, controls, busses and integration with displays that includes analgoue in and out options. Fantastic device and once you become familiar with the ESP32, you will enjoy programming it and seeing its fantastic potential. Happy to highly recommend this very good development kit, Andrew

This board is a standard ESP-32 package with the pins on the bottom, if you're looking at this then chances are you know what that is, if not, get yourself on the video sharing sites and have a look at "ESP32-WROOM" and you'll get the idea. The ESP32 is kinda like arduino++ I suppose, that's the best way I can describe it.The product is exactly what you expect it to be, and it works perfectly. I have no issues. You are getting what you expect here, an ESP32 board. I mean, they're all the same.I think there is a QR code to an ebook, but honestly, for this product, you can turn to any online resource at all pretty much. I do find the ESP32 a bit overwhelming to understand at first, but it's all out there, and you can code it the same way as an arduino essentially so there's nothing to be afraid of!I did briefly have a look for the ebook, you can download it in the web store of the same name (free but requires checkout), and I get why they exist for some products, like I have some PIR sensors from this manufacturer to check out in the next couple of days where the pinouts will be useful, but for something as standard as this, nah, don't need it :)

I've been using these as part of my model rail way automation, it took a bit of time, but I've now got bluetooth controlled lighting, signals and a blacksmiths forge all controlled by these.I've not replaced my other SOC boards, simply added these delightful, well built and clearly documented devices to my set up.The appeal for this one in particular is the build in wifi and bluethooth 4.2, which I've used to sync the unit and also to control the devices from an android app.They're well made, come in a nice clean cardboard package and you're free to then use them as you please. Though I did take about two months to read through everything and play about with the software options available to me.The manual is a must-read!

If you're looking for something more powerful than an ESP-8266, I'd highly recommend this one. They're just as easy to flash but offer a lot more potential. Apprently the radio inside supports both WiFi and Bluetooth which is cool. The Bluetooth version is v4.2, and it supports 2.4GHz WiFi only.This board has many uses, from wirelessly controlling lighting to even doing a bit on pen-testing! Think of it as a wireless/bluetooth Arduino, and the possibilities become endless. You can even use IFTTT to intertwine your wireless electronics with different functions, timers, actions, you name it! There is so much possible with this board.Overall, if you're really into the Internet, and into electronics, I'd highly recommend picking this board up, whether you're a noob or an intermediate! You can learn a lot using this board alone while having great fun using it.

I trying both this ESP32 dev board out, alongside the lower powered ESP8266 boards I had already to see how well it can run WLED to control my addressable LED's. The answer is that this is fantastic, and it's actually a lot more more powerful than I anticipated so I'll be using this in some more projects too. It was really easy to get up and running with, the header pins need soldering on (you'll note I hadn't soldered them when I took these photos, but I did later, avoid the world judging my soldering skills!). There's a config file available to allow you to upload Arduino sketches directly from the IDE to the device too, which is what I'm doing at the moment. Good product, well made, well packaged.

I have bought 2 of these ESP32's both worked fine on arrival but after a short period use one has experienced a dead short over the external 5v line to ground after only an hour or so of use, the ESP32 is a good board with loads of potential that is super easy to work with but this board is flawed or otherwise cheaply made with what seems to be a fairly high failure rate, I personally would not buy from this supplier again but there service was good and there manual was excellent.
