Product Description ------------------- Play GameCube games from anywhere in the world using the FreeLoader, a GameCube-sized disc that lets you load and play import GameCube games without modifying your console (so your warranty is kept intact). It's fast and easy to use--just load the FreeLoader disc, then replace it with your chosen game when prompted. Important note for customers intending to use the Freeloader to play games imported from Japan: It's not possible to save both Japanese and UK/US game data on one memory card; if you try to use your existing memory card with Japanese games it will automatically be reformatted. Likewise, if you try to save UK/US game data onto a memory card which contains Japanese game data, the card will be reformatted. Therefore, if you intend to play Japanese games with your Freeloader, you should use separate memory cards for UK/US game data and Japanese game data, making sure you remove the other card from the console before play. If you do not intend to play Japanese games then you should not be affected, as there are no known issues regarding saving US and UK game data onto the same card. .co.uk Review ------------- Tired of having to wait months for games to get released in the UK? Angry that some games don't get released here at all? Datel's FreeLoader could be your gateway to import heaven. It looks like an ordinary GameCube disc but once you stick it in your machine you'll instantly be able to play any game from any country in the world. It allows you to play US and Japanese games on your UK GameCube without having to get your console "chipped" or make any physical changes to it whatsoever. You just pop the FreeLoader disc in, then replace it with the game you want to play at the prompt and you're away. What's more, if you were impatient enough to buy a US or Japanese GameCube then the FreeLoader will now enable you to play UK published games on your machine as well. Sounds too good to be true? Well, there are a couple of catches, but they're only minor. Although all current games work with the disc there's the possibility that future ones won't. However, as long as you keep an eye on Datel's Web site you can find out about new versions of the disc to make sure you're as up-to-date as possible. Also, you'll need to use separate memory cards for Japanese and UK/US game data (see the product description below for more information).
