Review "This is the sort of book that Lion have made their own. Beautiful colour illustrations combine with thoughtful but not overly demanding text, of a length making it suitable for a gift or personal use. Here Jane Williams, wife to Rowan, writes on the journey through the season of Lent to Easter. Exploring themes such as food, power, love, anger, fear and compassion this mix of reflection, story and scripture would make a decent gift at Easter." -- Christian Marketplace "Jane Williams...writes engagingly about many aspects of Lent and Easter...It is a down-to-earth, intelligent and generous volume and astonishingly good value for money." --The Tablet Synopsis What gives meaning to our lives? How can we live a life shared with others? The seasons of Lent and Easter are traditionally times to reflect upon such fundamental questions as these. In this gentle, reflective book, Jane Williams encourages us to make space for reflection and, in so doing, to draw closer to God. As she moves through Lent to Good Friday and Easter, the author explores themes such as food, power, love, anger, fear and complicity, compassion, and waiting. In each chapter, she blends personal story, spiritual reflection, and quotations from scripture or other sources to offer an imaginative and powerful way into the meaning of the season. Illustrated throughout with fine art, "Approaching Easter" is a beautiful and rewarding seasonal companion. See all Product description

Approaching Easter
It is a gentle book, encouraging reflection in this most important season of the year. Well presented, using different ways of looking at the same theme, interspersed with pictures. A good balance of scripture, art, and personal reflection which would appeal to most people looking for something extra at this time if year.

Inspiring!
I really like this book because it adds a personal touch to Easter, as well as having a religious tone which is all too important in a time when there is a great deal of atheism and non-belief in Christianity. In fact, Christians are under persecution both in the Middle-East and in the West, a world frought with danger and terrorism.
